Safety checks of existing installations are commonly referred to as ‘periodic inspection and testing’ and an electrical installation condition report (EICR) is completed and issued.
If anything dangerous or potentially dangerous is found, the overall condition of the electrical installation will be declared to be ‘unsatisfactory’. In this situation we can advise you on what remedial action is required.
Recommended frequency of inspection ranges from 6 months to 10 years depending on the type of installation. For example, rented accommodation is every change of occupancy and 5 years.
The table below provides guidance on the initial frequency of formal inspections of electrical installations and routine checks.
PAT Testing can also be carried out alongside an EICR. Get in touch for a quote for testing of your property or multiple units.
